![]() ![]() I LOVE this old school game, but, when I need to 'grab' and item, the blue pulsing cursers are very sporadic/choppy ![]() ![]() Not to discuss the manager’s Ebony funky and lazy demeanor but but she use my look of disappointment in there ooor service with an attitude As I waited as others were called up in front of me, she never explained any of the issues but that my deep voice a directness appeared to be me yelling. I could see that he didn’t have my 8x8 or 8x8, and brought that to his attention. Once I got there it was crowded and lacked urgency, a very nice young man was stocking and he was helpful enough to get the photos for me. I remind you that gas is $7.00 per gallon. Once I left, I received an alert that it was ready at 51st street. However, I selected pickup on 35, when I got there I was informed that their photo machine hasn’t worked for 2 months. The app informed that my order was ready. Poor service and lack concern for customer The editing of photos seems like there should be so much more to offer instead of just sizing and location of the photo. The navigation of the app just needs someone to actually use it to print more than 50 photos and mix the order with other products to understand the hassle it causes to have to go back through thousands of pictures just to be able to make a canvas out of a photo your also printing as a normal photo. The picture print quality should be enhanced more so more photos are capable to being put on a canvas or enlarged poster because even with uploaded digital camera photos most of the time the resolution is an issue which is very frustrating when other sites seem to have no problem printing them and are cheaper even. When trying to add in the photos for prints, canvas and posters it would be much easier if you could choose the option right in the size category instead of uploading the photo for print and having to upload it separately for a canvas/poster. I love that it’s possible to print the photos right from my mobile device but the app features could use some improvements. The color option that you choose is entirely dependent on your personal preference.Ĭolor temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin (K) and describes how warm or cool a light’s color appears, and lower numbers indicate warmer color temperatures. Some light strips come in only one color, while others can have color selections that range in the millions. The color of a light strip is critical to keep in mind. High-density (HD) light strips provide an average of 1,080 LM and need 40 watts of power and come in a maximum length of 16.4 feet. ![]() Standard-density (SD) light strips produce an average of 540 LM and need 27 watts of power. Average light strips come in two densities: standard density (SD) of 30 LEDs per meter (9.1 LEDs/foot) or high density (HD) of 60 LEDs per meter (18.3 LEDs/foot). By taking note of the LED density, the average brightness of the light strip can be found. The brightness of an LED light strip is measured in lumens per meter or LM and is dictated by the density of the LED lights within 1 meter.īrightness can be challenging to figure out, and some manufacturers don’t include this information. They can also feature motion-sensing technology, making them ideal for lighting stairs. These inflexible products tend to be much shorter, sometimes only 1 foot long, and significantly brighter than the average light strip. However, as the power of an LED light strip increases, the flexibility decreases, with some light strips being completely rigid in design. Some LED light strips are so flexible that they can be bent up to 90 degrees without damaging the circuit board. ![]() Most light strips feature a flexible circuit board that can bend around corners or run over curved surfaces. If longer LED tape is needed, pieces can often be connected to customize to the desired length. However, most flexible LED strip lights can be cut using scissors to accommodate small areas. High- brightness LED light strips may have the same number of LED modules, but they’ll usually only be about 16 feet long. Low-brightness LED light strips can be up to 32 feet long with about 300 LED lights. For example, LED light strips intended for television backlighting or use on stairs tend to be shorter for easier installation. The brightness and intended purpose usually correlate to their length. Light strips are available in a variety of lengths, typically from 1 to 32 feet. Even a more generic installation of LED strip lights for ceilings or walls warrants some consideration before you make your purchase so you don’t end up with a specialty product that isn’t meant for where you intend to place it. Other location considerations are water resistance for patios, dimmer compatibility for bedrooms, or motion sensing for a hall, bathroom, or stairway. For example, a product intended for backlighting a TV may come with four precut pieces and television-specific syncing options that change color to mimic the colors on the screen. Because of this specialization, they are different from the average LED light strip. Some designs meet specific purposes, such as stair lighting or television backlighting. It’s essential to determine where the LED light strip will be installed before deciding which product to use. Before purchasing an LED light strip, consider keeping the following factors in mind to ensure your choice meets or exceeds your expectations for the intended application. The necessity of porting to Thunderbird also gave us the opportunity to step back and assess progress - the adoption of Tor Messenger was low and the real need is for metadata-free alternatives.Īs described above, a centralized client-server architecture suffers from metadata leaks and Tor Messenger inherits those problems while being unable to mitigate them. ![]() Tor Messenger is based on Instantbird (see the original blog post on why we picked Instantbird), a product that is no longer maintained by its developers. This meant that in such a client-server model, your metadata could be logged by the server, but your route to the server would be not be disclosed because it would be over Tor, and your communications would be encrypted with Off-the-Record messaging. We still thought this was a better alternative than the other products in the market, such as Pidgin, because it had safer and secure default configurations.Įleven beta releases later, we have, sadly, decided to discontinue supporting Tor Messenger. Here's why: When we released the first version, we tried to clearly identify the limitations of such a product: Tor Messenger was meant for communicating over existing social networks. The aim was to provide a chat client that supported a wide variety of transport networks like Jabber (XMPP), IRC, Google Talk, Facebook, Twitter had an easy-to-use graphical interface and configured most of the security and privacy settings automatically with minimal user intervention. ![]() In 2015, we introduced Tor Messenger, a cross-platform chat program that aimed to be secure by default by sending all of its traffic over Tor and enforcing encrypted one-to-one conversations by bundling and using OTR (Off-the-Record) messaging. ![]() ![]() Simple bookmark manager, the ability to import from Spotlight. In the case of loss of connection when sending or receiving data, it is possible to resume the transfer.Support for multiple connections at the same time. Both Amazon CloudFront and Akamai content delivery networks (CDN) can be easily configured to distribute your files worldwide from edge locations. The most attention Colossus got came during Fright Fest when the park ran the coaster backwards using the thankfully-defunct Psyclone’s trains. In the eight years I have visited Magic Mountain I have seen it race a single time - at a special event hosted by a theme park site. First of all, the park clearly gave up on the ride years ago. But a couple of factors roll into why this decision is sort of a no-brainer for Six Flags. (Down is good, up is bad in this chart)Ĭolossus finished 116th out of 175 tabulated roller coasters in 2013, which for a nearly 40-year-old roller coaster isn’t anything to sneeze at, really. I embedded a graphic below to give a better idea of the way Colossus’ approval rating has trended. You can see here that the popularity of Colossus amongst roller coaster enthusiasts (for whatever that’s worth) has plummeted in the 20 years that Hawker has run the poll. I’ve mentioned previously that Mitch Hawker also runs a great annual roller coaster poll. ![]() It only pulls a "Good" 7 on Theme Park Insider's reader ratings, leaving it outside the top 100 roller coasters in the world, as rated by our readers. One problem is that the ride has been pretty awful the past few years. But there are a couple of problems with advocating for the survival of rides like Colossus on the basis of nostalgia alone. Colossus is a special roller coaster for many people, even if it never meant anything particularly valuable to me. Theme parks are, by and large, valued for the memories created while we’re there. You caught Colossus in National Lampoon’s Vacation, in the intro of Step By Step and even in an episode of the A-Team! This was a big deal! With those memories comes a seeping sense of nostalgia - the feeling that we as theme park fans are losing something by the closure of Colossus and those like it.ĭon’t get me wrong: There’s absolutely nothing wrong with nostalgia. It stood as a mark for an era of rapid theme park growth and popularity it’s one of the coasters that thrust Magic Mountain into the national spotlight. The closure of Colossus means something, probably. There’s reason to believe that someone who rode this coaster for the first time in 1980 would have a very different perception than someone who first rode it in 2006. Over the years Colossus has been re-profiled at least twice over the last 40 years - once to remove the double-down segment and another time to flatten out a valley. All of this makes Six Flags’ announcement that the ride is to be closed on August 16, well, less than surprising. It’s the 163rd-tallest coaster if you include both steel and wooden coasters. According to the excellent RCDb, Colossus is now just the twelfth-tallest wooden roller coaster in the world. It’s hard to imagine a time when Colossus was the tallest and fastest roller coaster just a sign of how much the roller coaster business has changed in the 36 years since it was unveiled in 1978. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sometimes you can even briefly see the shredded remains of his previous incarnation raining down as he respawns.
